Hey! Happy New Years Eve!

I hope you have had a lovely festive period and a very merry Christmas whatever you have been doing and wherever you are in the world. It’s been a weird old year, but we’ve managed to get through it. For all those still planning your wedding, or even re-planning because of COVID19, good luck!

The one moment that makes me wobble the most and in some cases, actually cry behind the camera, is the father-daughter dance. It’s more of an American tradition, which weirdly being from the UK, I grew up thinking it was widely done in the UK too, but turns out it’s just because i’d seen it in so many American movies/TV shows. Of course, it is not strictly a father-daughter relationship that is celebrated now. I’ve seen numerous grooms dance with their mums, mother-daughter dances, father-son dances, etc. That being said, i’ve chosen songs that, whilst work great as the traditional father-daughter dance songs, will also work with any special relationship you want to celebrate with a boogie. I am lucky enough to have my dad still with me and I cannot wait to have our dance.

Sweet Child O’Mine - Taken by Trees (Guns N’ Roses cover, absolutely could have the original too!)
Dear Theodosia - Hamilton Soundtrack (Yep i’ve managed to sneak in another Hamilton song to my playlist, but this song is literally 2 dads singing about how much they want to make the world a better place for their children - one boy, one girl).
Daddy’s Little Girl - The Shires

Bonus mention to a song that will literally cause floods in your venue from the amount of tears it’ll produce - James Blunt - Monsters (the song is very much about a father-son relationship, though but if you had a band they could change the words).
